Description

Farm Landscaping & Grounds Volunteer

Help preserve the beauty, character, and historic landscape of Dudley Farm! Landscaping & Grounds Volunteers assist with maintaining the farm’s grounds by weeding gardens, clearing overgrown areas, removing invasive or unwanted vegetation, and helping keep pathways and outdoor spaces neat and accessible.

Volunteers may work independently or alongside Dudley Farm staff and other volunteers. Tasks will vary depending on the season and the needs of the property and may include hand weeding, pruning, clearing brush, maintaining garden areas, and general grounds cleanup.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, gardening, physical activity, and caring for historic properties. Volunteers play an important role in keeping Dudley Farm’s 10-acre landscape welcoming for visitors while helping protect and maintain its historic character.

This is a volunteer position. No professional landscaping experience is required—just a willingness to work outdoors and help care for the farm.

If interested please contact the Museum Director, Kaitlyn Goodwin at director@dudleyfarm.com or (203) 457-0770.

We have numerous programs that we offer throughout the year including tours of the historic Farmhouse Museum and Quinnipiac Dawnland Museum, school tours and educational field trips, Dudley Farm Summer Camp, a farmers market, a community garden, and public education programs. Our mission is "to preserve, restore and operate the Dudley Farm Museum as a late 19th century historical, educational and recreational resource to serve the general public." The Dudley Farm Museum is more than a collection of historic buildings-it is a place where history comes alive, connecting today's visitors with the land, people, and agricultural traditions of Guilford's past.
