Description
Quinnipiac Dawnland Museum Docent
Help visitors discover the history and culture of the Quinnipiac people and the Indigenous history of the land on which Dudley Farm stands. Quinnipiac Dawnland Museum Docents welcome guests, introduce visitors to the museum's exhibits and collections, answer questions, and help connect the stories and experiences represented in the museum to the broader history of the region.
Docents play an important role in creating a respectful, welcoming, and educational experience for visitors. No previous museum experience is required. Volunteers should have an interest in learning about Quinnipiac history and culture and enjoy engaging with visitors and sharing what they learn.
Museum Hours: • Saturdays: 10:00 AM–2:00 PM • Sundays: 1:00–4:00 PM
Docent opportunities are on a volunteer basis. Volunteers may sign up for shifts that fit their schedules and will receive information and orientation to help them confidently welcome visitors and interpret the museum.
If you are interested in being a docent - contact the Museum Director, Kaitlyn Goodwin, at director@dudleyfarm.com or call (203) 457-0770.

Set on approximately 10 acres, the property includes the historic Farmhouse, barns, outbuildings, gardens, fields, woods, farm animals and exhibits the tell the story of Guilford's agricultural heritage. The Quinnipiac Dawnland Museum is also located at the Farm which celebrates the first people of Guilford. We have numerous programs that we offer throughout the year including tours of the historic Farmhouse Museum and Quinnipiac Dawnland Museum, school tours and educational field trips, Dudley Farm Summer Camp, a farmers market, a community garden, and public education programs. Our mission is "to preserve, restore and operate the Dudley Farm Museum as a late 19th century historical, educational and recreational resource to serve the general public." The Dudley Farm Museum is more than a collection of historic buildings-it is a place where history comes alive, connecting today's visitors with the land, people, and agricultural traditions of Guilford's past.
